What is RTP?
RTP is a theoretical figure measured over millions of spins, so a single session can look nothing like it. In our 406M-spin study of Gates of Olympus (published RTP 96.50%), a typical $100 bankroll at $0.50 a spin still busted in 72.4% of sessions. The 96.50% figure is real, but it is a long-run average that individual sessions scatter wildly around.
A second thing RTP does not tell you: which version you are playing. Many slots ship in several RTP versions and casinos choose which to run, see RTP versions. Always check the published RTP of the exact version at the casino you are using.
FAQ
Is a higher RTP better?
Over the long run, a higher published RTP returns more of staked money on average. It does not make a session a win, slots are negative-expectation games.
Does 96% RTP mean I'll get $96 back from $100?
No. It's a lifetime average across millions of spins; any single session varies enormously.
